Room Standard Wall Framing Quantity And Cost Calculator
This calculator requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. This program will calculate the amount of 2x4 or 2x3 boards required to frame a standard wall. It is assumed that boards will be purchased in 8 foot lengths, normally referred to as studs. Frame construction is based on 16.0 inch centers. Crippler boards, or the cross member boards, are accounted for. If you are framing more than one standard wall enter the combined footage length. Enter the cost of one stud, 2x4 or 2x3 in the lumber grade you are using. Click the Calculate button for all fields to be calculated. The values returned are the number of studs needed and the total cost of them, based on your entry of wall length and cost per board. To do another, click the Clear Values button and then enter a new set of values. You may also wish to just change certain fields and recalculate. Calculated accuracy of current Javascript enabled browsers is generally 16 places, however, these results are rounded to make life easy.
