Back Porch Close To Time
Conversation Non-Standard
This calculator requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. This creates and displays the time in the traditional back porch conversation format, totally non-standard, abbreviated BPT. (Your LOCAL time is displayed also for comparison.) Requirements for this non-standard standard are a rocking chair, an old dog sleeping on the porch, good conversation and a jug of moonshine. (Two of four are acceptable...) This fits very well with what we feel is the most bizarre (clearer?) standard we have ever seen in computers.
This all goes to show that even though great efforts go into standards, (see our ISO 8601 time standard calculator), this one fits as just as good of a standard or TANS (there ain't no standard)! This particular non-standard, RFC 1123 was replaced by ISO 8601 but the non-standard was and is far more standard!
