Seafood Mercury Intake Calculator

This calculator requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. This script allows for the calculation of Mercury (Hg) intake on a weekly basis from the ingestion of seafood. This is a guideline from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Enter your weight in pounds or kilograms and the average amount of 6 ounce servings (roughly 170 grams) of the various forms of seafood listed. Then click on Calculate.

If the calculated result is less than 0.7 below, your Mercury levels are likely within the Environmental Protection Agency's recommended range. If your results exceed 0.7, your levels may well be higher than EPA recommends. Check with your local health department, the Federal Department of Health and Human Services or the EPA for more details.
