Math - How Do I find the percentage of weight I have lost?
Part of the Math Series of questions, How Do I...
This question came to us from a lady in Palm Springs, California, who like many of us, has had a weight struggle (me included). Enter the weight numbers for your own calculation and click on Calculate. You may click on Clear Values to do another.
Why and how? In order to create a simple explanation, here are the individual math steps to follow for percent of weight loss; we assume that this is actually a loss. (Everything is simple when you know how...)
Subtract the current weight from the starting weight (this CAN be a negative number but it would mean you have gained weight - not good on a diet...)
Divide the result, the weight lost, by the starting weight
Multiply the result by 100
The result is the percentage of weight lost (of the weight lost to the original weight)
