This is ONLY a method of arriving at a handicap. Though based on USGA formulae for handicap calculations as of 2002 for short courses, a truer representation is determined from a larger number of scores. Click on Calculate and the one round handicap will be determined. We also calculate the Index handicap and a USGA approved round down method is used to determine the factored handicap. The USGA designates a short course as one under 3,000 yards. They are often termed different names, such as Par 3, Executive, Mini-Course, Fast-Play and others. Such courses do NOT get a slope rating and the handicaps are not portable. The formula for these calculations is identical to the USGA formula; however, these five different handicap values cover the majority of handicapping calculations worldwide for such courses.
