This calculator is designed to give the amount of change, attenuation or gain, in decibels, you can expect with a change in signal voltages. When you want to figure out the gain needed (in decibels), raise the output voltage level. You can also use this to calculate how much attenuation you need to prevent input overload. To see decibel gain, increase the voltage; to see attenuation, decrease the voltage. Enter the voltages and click on Calculate.
