Concrete Slab, Column and Block Wall Fill Calculator
This calculator requires the use of JavaScript enabled and capable browsers. This is designed to give the approximate quantity of materials required for a concrete block (hollow or solid) wall, and the approximate cost, based on your data entered. To use the concrete volume section, simply enter the width, length, and thickness of your pour, click on whether you are measuring the thickness in feet or inches, then click on the Calculate button. This section allows you to figure the footing, a square or rectangular post or a flat surface square or rectangular pour. The calculator will estimate the number of cubic yards of concrete that will be required. To use the block wall section, simply enter the height and length of the wall, click on whether you are using 8 inch or 12 inch blocks, and if you want to fill them, if they are hollow, then click on the Calculate button. The calculator will estimate the number of blocks and cubic yards or concrete that will be required. (Please be aware that this is an estimate at best. There is significant variation in fill space among different blocks made by different manufacturers. For filling purposes, this section assumes the use of double open ended bond beam blocks.) To use the concrete column section, simply enter the height and diameter of the column, and click on the Calculate button. This section can be used for concrete posts, columns or a circular flat pour. The calculator will display the number of cubic yards required. The approximate costs section requires entry of the totals of blocks and cubic yards of concrete for the project, and the entry of the cost per cubic yard of concrete and per block. Click on the Calculate button for the results.
