Base Aggregate Calculator
This converter requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. This script helps estimate the aggregate tonnage required for a particular job. To use this calculator, enter the appropriate width, length, and thickness of this application. Click on the measuring designator for thickness in feet or inches. Then, click on either Base Rock, Drain Rock, or a Custom Density material selection. The Base Rock and Drain Rock selections will supply a default density of the rock; the Custom selection requires an entry for rock density in the Density field. Finally, click on the Calculate button. The calculated number of tons of aggregate will be returned. As with all Earth materials, densities will vary somewhat between different loads, but the default values assigned for Base Rock and Drain Rock are reasonable averages. You may click on Clear Values to start over.
