JavaScript Word Substitution In A String

This will substitute all instances of the word "the" with "xxx". This will find and change any chosen word that is preceded by and followed by a space or is the last word. It does not find/change words that are preceded by or followed by non-space characters. The key is the name word as opposed to a string of characters.
