Below you will find links to the most popular search sites on the Internet, excluding those that do not meet our standards. Some sites carry you to other sites as well, more than 2400 in all from this site. We have the top rated individual engine sites, the top rated meta search sites, specialty search sites individually and by grouping, link guide sites and an alphabetical listing of all the search sources on our site. We know of no other source on the Internet that connects you to more search locations. If you can't find what you are looking for here, you probably can't find it at all. We do caution you that the vast majority of engines using present technology do not allow for intelligent blocking of undesirable information in search results. The few that do, we have indicated as Family Filtered. On most sites, you may search for a particular word or phrase that, to you, is innocent; however, due to the intentionally deceptive practices of many pornographic and adult only site webmasters, you may get results that point to those types of sites. All we can suggest is to ignore them and complain to your congressional representatives. Our intent of the hours involved in this service is to provide easy and immediate access to information on the Internet. Use these services at your own risk. You may contact us to suggest additional entries or express an opinion of one you used. We will accept no entry that promotes sites that contain objectionable matter or sites not considered as family content. Finally, we have many countries and languages supported in various search engines, some supporting several of their own. Besides the obvious language differences, there are also many technology differences. (Some sites still use humans to review and compile information.) If you don't get the information at one, try at least a couple more. Individual engines vary the most in capability technology; some share the same database sources. Database technology is generally the same but how you peruse and display what is in that database seems to be the difference. The data seeking robots are now getting more useful in tracking data but many search database owners are still running months behind in getting information in so that it can be used. Some sites have several engines for you to use at the same location but they support only one engine at a time; we have labeled those MultiSearch. Those that search more than one engine at a time and compile results are called MetaSearch. Only a few MultiSearch and MetaSearch sites have any databases of their own. There is quite a science to searching, dealing with Boolean logic and with other factors of importance to the search logic. If you are not an experienced (or even if you are) data seeker, you may want to take a few minutes to look over some of the informational links concerning this. New technology is constant. We are beginning a rating process to indicate OUR OPINION of the best of each type of search source; 1 is exceptionally good, 2 is good, 3 is acceptable while 4 is not recommended.
